A photogravure on paper after Edward S. Curtis (1868 – 1952) of a Navajo man dressed as the Black God. Curtis spent thirty years documenting Native American tribes west of the Mississippi. This piece features a traditional spirit from a Navajo healing ceremony called a Night Chant. The work is presented unsigned under a mat and glass in a wood frame, wired to hang.

- scratches and scuffs to frame; tape to the verso holds backing to frame.
