An offset lithograph reproduction print on paper after a mid 19th-century intaglio print titled L’Écouteuse (Les Filles d’Eve) by James Posselwhite after Vincent Vidal (French, 1811 – 1887). The title translates to The Listener (The Daughters of Eve), with the color image depicting a woman in a long patterned gown eavesdropping by listening through a wall. The unsigned print includes artist and title information printed in plate to the lower margin, as well as notations of ‘Dédié à Madame la Princesse de Beauveau, Pub by E. Gambart, Junin & Co., Paris Publie par Goupil, Viber & Cie’. It is presented under glass in a gold tone wooden frame with black beaded accent, and fitted with sawtooth hanging hardware to the verso.

- slight toning to image; minor wear and scuffing to frame.
