1914-1915 Henry Matthews Sterling Silver Manicure Set

A sterling silver manicure set from 1914-1915 by Birmingham maker Henry Matthews. This set includes a glass bottle, a buffer, a file, and a cuticle knife. Each features scrolled, floral, and acanthus leaf accents to the sterling components and has the ‘H M’ maker’s mark. The buffer is marked with three hallmarks for sterling, Chester, and 1914, and the other three pieces have hallmarks for Birmingham, sterling, and 1915. They come with a pair of silver-plated scissors and are presented in a case with green felt-like interior lining. The approximate weight of the lid of the bottle is 0.105 ozt.

Condition

- minor to mild surface wear including marks, scratches, and minimal tarnishing; the case is in fair condition with surface wear and scratches to the exterior and some discoloration to the interior.
