Hand-Knotted Persian Khamseh Accent Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Khamseh accent rug. This tribal wool rug begins with a large round medallion in ivory, garnet, charcoal and camel, with palmette pendants at top and bottom. The medallion rests on a semi-open vermillion field with quarter medallions in the corners and a row of boteh running along each lateral edge. Framing the field are compound borders, including an Arab main border over ivory, featuring meandering, geometric florets, leaves and vines. The main border is flanked by meandering floral minor borders over garnet and cranberry. Selvedges are overcast; ends finish with short kilim skirts and ivory wool warp fringe. Unlabeled.
