A semi-antique hand-knotted Chinese Nichols wool area rug. This Art Deco rug is rendered in a palette of terracotta, slate blue, sapphire, indigo, and ivory. The terracotta field is framed in a slate blue solid border, and features scattered floral motifs flowing over the border and field with hanging lanterns, butterflies, and large vase forms with stands filled with over-size bouquets. This rug is finished with overcast selvedges and bound ends, as well as a label to the underside.
