Moriage Dragonware with Lithophane Teacups

Item Details

A forty two piece collection of vintage porcelain moriage dragonware. These pieces have the traditional Dragonware design in black on white with gold and blue accents. The raised dragons are in white and black. The bottom of the teacups feature an image of a Japanese woman. Lithopane cups are also called “Lady At The Bottom” cups because of the way the women reveal themselves only when held up to the light. This group includes one dinner plate, twelve dessert plates, eleven teacups, ten saucers, four demitasse saucers, one teapot, one platter, one creamer and a lidded sugar bowl. Items are marked, ‘Selecta’ to the underside.
