A handwoven Indian, Tibetan wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of indigo, gold, sand, ivory, and stone. The deep indigo colored field features a lattice of leaves with large palmette forms and floral motifs throughout. Framing the field is a unique main border of prominent lotus blooms, and flowering vines, as well as a carnation meander, and another stylized floral meander guard border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and bound ends, and a label to the underside.
