English Watcombe Devon Motto Ware Jugs
Item Details
A lot of two pieces of vintage Motto pottery produced by the Watcombe Pottery of Devon, England. These items are made from the local red clay found in the Devon region of England and have been glazed with a solid white background and hand painted images. They depict farm houses and trees with blue and brown trim. One jug says, ‘Fresh from the dairy’ and the other, ‘Make hay while the sun shines.’ Items are marked, ‘Watcombe Devon Motto Ware England.’

- chip to rim of small jug; surface marks from prior use.
