A watercolor painting on paper titled Matlock High Tor Derbyshire attributed to George Sidney Shepherd (English 1784 – 1862). This work depicts a mountainous background foregrounded by a forested river scene, and is likely an illustration depicting a scene from The Compleat Angler. To the frame verso is a photocopy of the work’s verso, which depicts the title of the piece. The painting is initialed illegibly to the lower right. It is presented behind a white mat in a wooden frame.
