A handwoven Anatolian tribal area kilim. This wool rug begins with two hooked ashik medallions rendered in burgundy, cerulean, and sapphire and outlined in ivory. The medallions rest on a burgundy field populated with geometric knotted-rope motifs in cerulean. Framing the field are three borders, including a wide main border grounded in cerulean and populated with repeating abstract geometric motifs in different colors. Selvedges are double overcast, the rug finishing at each end with long, braided wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
