A hand-knotted Turkmen Ersari wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of vermillion red, indigo, rust, ivory, and taupe. The vermillion red colored field features six palmette themed guls accompanied with full and partial cruciform guls. Framing the field is a floral medallion meander with running dog guard borders. Finishing the rug are double overcast selvedges with a charcoal colored warp fringe to the ends, as well as a label to the underside.
