A Japanese lacquered wood and metal usubata vase with a bamboo motif. The piece features a hand-painted bamboo design on the flared base and flared top. In the center is a completely removable base metal holder. The holder is matched by a thin silver-plate rim on the top and base. A pair of base metal handles are featured on the stem. Marked to the underside with a two-character cartouche.
