Featured is a hand-painted and carved wooden wall panel with carved soapstone-style detail depicting a dignified Chinese ancestor, seated and wearing an ornate Ming style robe. He is seated in an ornately carved chair with his feet on a small ottoman. The piece is presented in a black wood frame with a matte black background with a gold tone filigree border. Two hanging brackets are affixed to the top. The item presents no visible maker’s marks.
