A sterling silver flatware set by Heirloom Sterling of Oneida. This is in the Virginian pattern, first introduced in 1942, which features a flared handle with pointed tip and a floral and foliate design. The set includes twelve dinner forks, twelve salad forks, twelve cocktail forks, twelve salt spoons, four casserole spoons, twelve iced tea spoons, twenty-five teaspoons, twelve soup spoons, twelve butter spreaders, a sugar spoon, a master butter knife, a meat fork, and a ladle, all marked ‘Heirloom Sterling’ or ‘Oneida Sterling’ to the backs. They are presented with twelve dinner knives and cake server that have stainless blades and hollow sterling handles. Also included are three teaspoons with personalized engravings, a butter knife and a cheese knife with mother-of-pearl handles, a lemon fork, and a cake server with hollow handle that have all different patterns by various makers. The set comes in a wooden flatware chest with red felt-like interior lining. The total approximate weight, excluding dinner knives, cheese knife, butter knife, and two cake servers with stainless blades, is 114.775 ozt.
