Copper

A Japanese leaded copper mirror housed in a black and gold-toned lacquer case. The mirror has a floral motif to the verso while the front has been polished to provide a reflective surface. The verso of the mirror is inscribed ‘天下一…原吉次’. The lacquer case is decorated with gold-tone chrysanthemums and swirling vines.

Condition

- some scratches and wear to the surface of the mirror; some wear to the verso of the mirror; lacquer case is cracked and worn around the edges; some scratches to the surface of the item.
