Japanese Porcelain Imari Plate with Chrysanthemum Motif

A Japanese Imari ware porcelain plate with a Chrysanthemum motif. The design also includes a small number of orange butterflies to the margins. Unmarked, the plate includes a blue branch pattern to the underside.

Condition

- minor surface scratches to the glaze; areas of brown dots under the glaze, likely iron stains; 0.5" long firing crack to the underside of the plate and a 0.25" long firing crack to the front of the plate, small areas of pitting; rubbing to the gilt-tone paint on the piece.
