A wrought iron rushlight stand and a publication from The Rushlight Club. The forged stand has a circular base with twisted supports which hold the iron column with a clip to hold a piece of rush soaked in fat or oil. When lit, the rush would burn and provided a source of light. The Rushlight Club is devoted to the study of lighting devices and fuels from the most primitive through those powered by gas and electricity. The members publish scholarly articles quarterly. This is volume 74. No. 4, from December 2008.
