Gorham "Chantilly" Sterling Silver Flatware Set

A sterling silver flatware set by Gorham. These are in the William C. Codman designed Chantilly pattern, first introduced in 1895, which features scroll accented handles with a fleur-de-lis tip. The sixty piece set includes eight place spoons, a sugar spoon, eight teaspoons, eight iced tea spoons, six butter spreaders, eight salad forks, eight dinner forks, a ladle, a meat fork, a master butter knife, and a pickle fork. These are presented with a pie server and eight dinner knives that have stainless blades and hollow sterling handles. Most pieces are marked to the backs, either with ‘Gorham Sterling’ or with the three pseudo hallmarks alongside ‘Sterling’. The set is presented with two butter spreaders by R. Wallace & Sons in the Henry L. Wallace designed Rose pattern, which have personalized engravings to the handles and are marked ‘RW&S Sterling’. The total approximate weight, excluding dinner knives and pie server with stainless blades, is 62.820 ozt.
