An offset lithograph poster on paper for the original run of the Broadway show Follies in 1971. This poster, designed by American illustrator David Edward Byrd (born 1941), depicts the head of a showgirl with a crack running through it in an Art Nouveau style, with the title of the show forming part of her headdress, and informational text inside of a border frame where her body would be. Byrd’s name is printed on either side of the design, along the borders. Printer’s information is in the lower left, stating that this is ‘An Artcraft Poster’. It is presented behind glass in a gold tone frame with corner saw-tooth brackets to the verso for hanging.

Condition

- wear to the finish of the frame; accretion to frame; gashes to the top right of the paper; crease marks to center and horizontally on the surface of the paper from previous storage; scratches and scuff marks throughout the surface of the print; discoloration throughout the surface of the work.
