Hand-Knotted Persian Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian wool area rug, in a palette of scarlet red, turquoise, shades of green, ivory, fuchsia, and crimson red. The field is a large curvilinear lozenge infilled with floral bouquets surrounding a large, branched floral quatrefoil medallion. The lozenge is banded in chocolate brown, with decorative spandrels at the corners in a combination of the field colors. The primary border is a lotus flower meander and turquoise vine pattern in crimson, fuchsia, deep indigo blue-black and ivory, flanked by a carnation meander. The rug has bright red overcast edges and cropped, re-tied wool warp fringe to the ends. It is labeled with production numbers on the underside.
