A circa 1947 offset lithograph advertisement for Chesterfield cigarettes, taken from a mid-century magazine. The ad depicts a group of American sports figures gathered together, alongside their facsimile signatures, with the tag lines of ‘With the Kings of Sports It’s Chesterfield’ and ‘Always Buy Chesterfield’ printed to the top and bottom. Sports figures depicted include tennis player Bobby Riggs, baseball players Ted Williams and Stan Musial, quarterback Sid Luckman, golfer Lloyd Mangrum, basketball player Nat Holman and swimmer Adolph Kiefer. The print is double-matted in brown and red and presented under glass in a gold tone metal frame fitted with hanging wire to the verso.
