Utagawa Hiroshige Woodblock "Echizen Province: Tsuruga, Kehi Pine Grove"
Item Details
An ukiyo-e woodblock print on paper titled Echizen Province: Tsuruga, Kehi Pine Grove (越前: 敦賀, 気比ノ松原) by Utagawa Hiroshige (歌川 広重, 1797 – 1858). The print is number 31 in the series Pictures of Famous Places in the Sixty-odd Provinces (六十余州名所図絵). The two red cartouches in the upper right corner feature the series and print titles. The artist’s ‘Hiroshige hitsu’ signature is printed in the red cartouche along the left edge. Housed in a bamboo frame under acrylic glass.
Condition
- minor wear to the finish on the frame; overall fading and discoloration to the print.
