An engraving after a painting by Heyden titled Village Sur Le Bord D’un Canal, or, ‘Village on the Canal’. This intaglio print depicts an old word village near a domestic waterway well used by boats large and small. Figures on the shore congregate near a stone wall looking over the canal in the foreground. The work is attributed to original artist Heyden and engraver R. Daudet in-plate in the lower margin. It is presented under glass with an off white mat in a finished wood frame. There is a hanging wire mounted to the verso, along with a short French Language essay on the work.
Condition
Good; mat is slightly discolored, foxing to print.
