Japanese Imari Plates Including Saji and Takahashi
Item Details
A pairing of hand-painted Japanese Imari porcelain plates. The Takahashi plate a blue central waterfront design, four rounded flowering tree panels on the red border with a brown scrolling pattern, and alternating checked and vine patterns to the blue and green sectioned edges. The Saji plate displays a central blue and red floral pattern with rippling sections of flowers, mythical creatures, and geometrical patterns to the verge. The plates were made in Japan and are marked by the makers to the reverse.
