Mark Osman Curtis Oil Painting on Canvas of Cows in Pasture

An original oil painting on canvas by listed Scottish artist Mark Osman Curtis (Scotland/Denmark, 1879 – 1959). The softly rendered painting depicts several Holstein cows reclining in a grassy pasture, under a diffuse light and an expansive pale blue sky. The work is signed ‘V. Birkholm’ to the lower right, a known pseudonym for the reclusive artist. It is presented in a copper tone beveled wood frame and is ready to hang with twine.
Condition
- crack to paint surface to upper right. Accretion across surface of painting. Minor wear to frame.
