Guanyin and Child Ceramic Statuette

Item Details

A Guanyin and child ceramic statuette. Guanyin (Avalokiteshvara), is the bodhisattva of mercy, and amongst other things, is associated with children and fertility. In this figurine, she is depicted in blue and white royal regalia with a floral motif while standing and holding a child in one arm. The verso bears an apocryphal Xuande reign mark, however, the figure was produced during the Republic period or later in the 20th century.
