A driftwood and ceramic sculpture of the bodhisattva Kṣitigarbha, known as Jizō in Japan. The tall piece of driftwood features the bodhisattva wearing monk’s robes, holding a cintamani in one hand and shakujo staff in the other. A small dipped glazed pottery pot is mounted to the lower left of the piece. The item has no visible maker’s marks.
