An original signed aquatint titled The Month of May by listed Norwegian artist Frits Thaulow (1847 – 1906). The realist/expressionistic work, in shades of sepia, cream, gray and gold, depicts a European village at dusk with a gray sky punctuated with clouds, and white-stuccoed cottages with thatched roofs to the right foreground, a wide stone street to the center populated with strolling villagers and tall stone buildings to the right background, with lit stained glass windows. The print is displayed under glass in a white mat and stenciled dark wood frame. The work is pencil-signed by the artist to the lower right corner and titled ‘Jacobi’ to the left, with gallery sticker to the verso with artist and and title.
