An original signed watercolor on paper by listed Indian artist Gideon Devapriam Thyaga Raj (born 1930), titled Diamond Cottage. The work depicts a genre scene with buffalo-driven carts traveling through a fantastic sun-washed landscape with monumental trees with twisted branches. The work is rendered in an expressive manner with bold brushwork and rich shades of ochre, russet, yellow gold, black and white. The painting is signed to the lower right corner and displayed under glass in a off white and pale green mats and gilded wooden frame. Wired to the back for hanging.
