A hand-knotted Persian Kurdish wool accent rug.This rug is rendered in a palette of deep rose, sepia/black, peach, camel, and silver. The deep rose colored field begins with a large diamond medallion with palmette pendants, and features flowered branches, scrolling leaves, and small coordinating spandrels. Framing the field is a main leaf and blossom meander, with carnation meander guard borders, as well as minor borders of sawtooth, and running dog patterns. Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges and a short warp fringe to the ends, along with a label to the underside.
