Hand-Knotted Caucasian Kazak Carpet Runner
Item Details
A hand-knotted Caucasian Kazak carpet runner. Rendered in a palette of vermillion, midnight blue, camel, sapphire and ivory, this wool rug begins with a vertical row of medallions, four of which are hexagonal while the center medallion is diamond shaped; each is framed by a bracket at top and bottom. The medallions rest on a vermillion field amid small geometric florets. Enclosing the field are three borders, including a star pattern over ivory and a pair of meander borders over midnight blue. The low pile rug has a bi-color overcast selvedge and ivory cotton fringe to either end. The rug is not tagged.
