A hand-woven wool Caucasian area rug. This rug features a deep red field with a complex repeating pattern of hooked guls and medallions featuring orange, green and black. Framing the field are compound borders, including a cream primary border featuring a stylized leaf and floret meander pattern. It has short cotton warp fringe at either end and is unmarked.
