A finely hand-knotted Persian Mehriban wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of deep rose, sapphire, powder blue, cranberry, ivory, emerald, lavender, wheat, mauve, chartreuse, and sky blue. The deep rose colored field begins with a diamond shaped floral themed medallion with flowering plant pendants, and features an abundance of ornate flower sprays, palmettes, and flowering plants swirling throughout. Framing the field is a sapphire grounded elaborate floral patterned main border, along with a pair of equally elaborate carnation meander guard borders, and laleh abbasi minor borders. Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges and an ivory warp fringe with a blanket stitch. Unlabeled.
