Antique American Belleek Coffee Service 1889-94
Item Details
A nine piece antique coffee service from American Belleek. Belleek produced high quality porcelain dating from the mid 1800’s, originating in Belleek Ireland. When some of these artisans migrated to the United States, they formed the Ceramic Art Company, CAC, and produced American Belleek from 1889 to 1894. In 1906, after a series of changes, CAC officially became Lenox and still produces high quality porcelain today. These unique pieces boast shaped forms with angular handles and unusual square bases. The bodies of the pieces have been painted by hand with a delicate pink rose motif and gilt trim, handles and bases. The set includes a coffee pot, a creamer, four teacups and three saucers. The mark to the underside dates these items to 1889-94.
