Hand-Knotted Egyptian-Style "Isis" Pictorial Wool Accent Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Egyptian-style wool accent rug. This pictorial rug is rendered in a palette of sand, mauve, sky blue, gold, azure, magenta, emerald, ivory, and sage. The sand colored field depicts the goddess Isis, hieroglyphics, floral motifs, and two deity like images. Framing the field are multiple borders of repeated geometric shapes, including lotus leaves in bold hues. Finishing the rug are triple overcast selvedges and an ivory warp fringe to the ends. One of the ends offers a brass rod tied through the fringe, and it goes unlabeled.
