English Silver Plate Serving Tray with French Carving Set
Item Details
A three-piece assortment of silver plate serveware. Featured is an English-made oval platter with an engraved foliate center, a scalloped inner border, oval beaded trim and double foliate handles. It is marked ‘Made in England’ to the underside with an illegible pictorial mark. Also included is a French carving set comprising a fork and knife. They feature wooden handles under silver casings decorated with embossed foliate designs and a stainless steel blade and prongs. The prongs are marked ‘Acier Garanti’ and the knife blade is marked ‘Paris’. They are presented in a period display case.
Condition
- the tray has surface wear including scratches and minimal tarnish; the carving set shows scratches and tarnish; some peeling to the casing on the handles; the box has tears and wear.
