A 19th-century original naïve oil painting on board by an anonymous artist. The unsigned painting depicts a young girl with thick russet hair and piercing blue eyes, wearing a light blue dress with lace trim, holding a frightened cat. The work is displayed in an antique scalloped edge gilded frame with applied scrollwork corners and light cream oval mat with beaded border. Wired to the back for hanging.
