A rare hand-forged antique ribcage style boat prow rushlight fixture for night fishing. This cast iron piece features five ribs and a back support for attachment to the prow of a fishing boat; a rushlight then hung from the two upper rings can then illuminate the water for night fishing. (See link.) The piece has a black finish and no maker’s marks are visible. Purchased in Baton Rouge, LA.
