Circa 1918 Frank Herschede moon face grandfather clock, serial number 5248. This impressive oak clock case stands tall with broken swan neck pediment to top featuring three urn shaped finials, applied carved floral swags adorn the front above the beautiful clock face. The body has applied carved shell and ribbon detailing with beveled glass oval window showcasing the chimes. The lower section of the cabinet features large applied carved floral medallion surrounded by pretty scroll design and is finished with claw feet. The clock face features a beautiful moon face that rotates, a lovely silver background with floral design sits under gold numbers, etched gilt floral design to center and scroll design to outside, black hands and separate minute counter to inside.
Condition
good/very good – Nicks consistent with age, piece of applied ribbon is missing on top left corner of door, one chime is dull, all mechanics present, untested, suggest preview for personal assessment.
