Antique Tagliabue Copper Closed Flash Point Tester

An antique Tagliabue copper closed flash point tester. The piece was originally designed for testing the flash point of different liquids. The piece is stored within its original box with original paperwork. It is emboss marked to the side ‘CJ Tagliabue MFG Co Brooklyn New York Patented Aug 17, 1917’ and to the top with a patent date of ‘AUG171917 – AUG18-1918’. It includes a black and silver tone metal tag from Central Scientific Co. to the side. The original box includes the original black and silver tone metal tags to the top and features a cast metal handle and dovetail joinery at the corners.

Condition

- door does not close completely; according to illustration, some parts may be missing; some oxidation and spotting noted; original paperwork included; tears and toning to the paperwork.
