Vintage Lidded Wheel-Thrown Stoneware Crock

Item Details

A vintage wheel-thrown stoneware crock with cobalt design to the front. The piece features a pair of applied handles and a deep beige glaze with hand painted floral design to the front. The back features handwriting which appears to read, ‘I am made of potter’s planters, when I break then I am gone.’ The bottom features incised lettering which dates the piece to March 3, 1978, and it is signed illegibly by the artist.

Condition

- chips or flakes noted where the glaze has raised and bubbled.
