1893 William Stringer Mills London Powder Jar with Other Sterling Vanity Items
Item Details
A collection of sterling silver vanity accessories. This selection consists of twelve items including a hand mirror, a hairbrush, a clothing brush, a hat brush, and nail buffer in floral patterns by Gorham. These pieces are presented with a sterling handled shoehorn, a pair of Whiting Manufacturing Co. glove stretchers, a sterling handled nail buffer, a sterling handle button hook, a crystal powder jar with a sterling silver lid, and two crystal perfume bottles with crystal stoppers and sterling silver lids. The smaller perfume bottle is stamped, ‘B&F Sterling’ and the larger perfume bottle is stamped with the William Stringer Mills maker’s mark alongside London hallmarks for 1893. The approximate weight of nail buffer bottom is 1.435 ozt.

- to fair; all items show some light wear and tarnish; surface scuffs and scratches; wear to brush bristles; wear and stains to nail buffer pad; shoe horn has a dent on the edge of blade; button hook shows oxidation to steel portion; stains and discoloration to perfume bottles; smaller bottle has a broken/stuck lid; larger bottle and powder jar lids have personalized engraving.
