An antique oak document sorter chest by P. F. Pettibone & Co. This circa 1894 to early 1900s piece features a beveled coving over a collection of side-by-side drawers including crescent recesses for drawer opening, fluted panel front drawers including label holders, fluted stiles, panel and rail sides and a document writing slide recessed into the plinth base. The piece is comprised of quartersawn oak with brass tag marking it ‘P. F. Pettibone & Co Chicago’.
