A hand-knotted Persian Bijar area rug . This wool carpet is hand-knotted in a palette of red, burgundy, aqua, white, lilac-gray, cobalt blue, emerald, and black. The field features an all over herati pattern featuring diamond forms,lancet leaves, and rosettes. It has carnation meander guard borders and a samovar pattern main border. Finished with overcast selvedges and fringe to either end. Leather strips attached to the verso at the edges.
