A collection of Medieval brass tomb rubbings on parchment paper. Including are rubbings of various Medieval figures. The pieces are hand marked with notations reading ‘St. Mary’s Church Fairforel Son of Edmond Tamil’, ‘Shatsbrook Berkshire’ and’ S. Nicolas Church Tapolw’. All are presented unframed. These images are relief rubbings taken from commemorative brass plaques found on the tombs of Medieval figures in European churches.
Condition
- charcoal smudges throughout each piece; wear to edges of papers; naturally curl up due to being rolled and stored; adhesive and white marks on each piece.
Dimensions
- measures largest rubbing unrolled; items will arrive rolled in a shipping tube.
