A hand-knotted Hamadan wool carpet runner. This long carpet runner features three tree form rectangular shaped center medallions grounded in ivory. The field is densely populated with a geometric herati pattern, star guls, tree of life forms, pinwheels and urns. It is rendered in a palette of madder red, merigold, spruce, black, grey and pink joined by matching spandrels notched in sawtooth patterns. The rug has resolved borders including more sawtooth and running water cruciforms grounded in cranberry and black. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishes with long twisted warp fringe at each end. Unlabeled.
