A hand-knotted Turkish medallion Oushak area rug. This rug begins with a round medallion with deep pendants at top and bottom, the medallion and pendants resting on an open, ice-blue field with wide, joined spandrels grounded in ivory. Filler elements include palmettes, flowers, boteh, leaves and vinework. The field is framed by eight borders of varying widths, including a herati primary border grounded in ivory, featuring meandering palmettes and flowers. The universal palette is ice blue, rust, cornsilk and ivory. Selvedges are double overcast, the rug finishing at each end with long ivory cotton warp fringe. Unlabeled.
