A handwoven and embroidered North African carpet runner. This tribal wool rug is rendered in a palette of rust, midnight blue, peach, gold, emerald and gray. It features a series of geometric patterns in horizontal panels over a rust-colored field, including complex diamond lattices. Framing the field are compound borders, including an unresolved main border grounded in rust, featuring pinwheels on either side of a zigzag meander. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with gray warp fringe made of goat hair. Unlabeled.
