An offset lithograph print after listed artist Salvador Dali (1904-1989), titled Cristo del Vallés (Christ of Vallés), is the intro plate of the series titled Pater Noster. This print depicts a surrealist composition of a textural, gloomy sky overlooking a rustic town and praying member of the church to the foreground. The clouds are reinforced with a delicate rendering of Christ’s face, which is overlaid with a bleeding wound and crown of thorns. To the lower margins is an in plate signature, dated 1962. The print is presented under acrylic glass beneath matting in a gold tone wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- scuff marks and scratches throughout the acrylic glass; gold tone wood frame showing nicks and scratches around the frame.
