A pair of 1888-89 color lithograph prints on paper originating from the turn-of-the-century horticultural journal titled The Garden: An Illustrated Weekly Journal of Horticulture in All Its Branches, edited by Irish gardener William Robinson (1838 – 1935). Featured is a botanical print titled Iris Tingitana, rendered in a palette of blue, yellow and green, originally featured in The Garden‘s Vol. 36 in 1889. Also featured is Arum Lily (Richardia Æthiopica), featured in the journal’s Vol. 33 in 1888. The prints are set under French-style matting and presented under glass in matching wooden frames.
Condition
- to fair; toning and discoloration to paper and matting; minor edge wear and scratching to frames; no hanging hardware present to one frame.
